In November 2011, St Martin’s Congregation handed over the responsibility of running the building to St Martin’s Community Resource Centre (SMCRC). This new company is a partnership between the congregation and community groups. This creative partnership is providing an exciting new resource to benefit the whole community in the Gorgie/Dalry area of Edinburgh, by modernising and refurbishing the building.
SMCRC is a safe and welcoming place, providing practical, flexible and appropriate worship and meeting space for different groups and events. A resource for the whole community, providing accommodation for several community organisations including Spokes and St Martin’s Church.
The St Martin’s Community Resource Centre is managed by a company where all users are members of the company.
Phases 1 and 2 of the redevelopment are now complete (at a cost of £510,000), with remodelled entrances, kitchen and toilet facilities, renovated halls and office space. A lift provides full wheelchair and buggy access from the side entrance. We now have proper open meeting spaces for various activities (e.g. fitness, dance, drama, parties and self help groups). These facilities are available for hire. If interested go to the SMCRC website or use the contact us. form to email us.
What are we fundraising for?
Phase 3 will finish the job and provide better toilets downstairs.
Please help us reach our remaining target of £45,000 to complete Phase 3
